Don't start with "I am writing to apply for the position of..." That's what everyone writes. Start with something that captures attention. Reference a company initiative you admire. Mention a mutual connection. Share a brief, relevant accomplishment. "When I saw that [Company] is expanding its [Initiative], I knew my experience scaling [Similar Thing] at [Previous Company] could contribute to your goals."
