Store-and-forward switches receive the entire frame before forwarding. They calculate the FCS and verify integrity. Corrupt frames are dropped. This adds latency because you wait for the full frame. The delay increases with frame size. But you get reliability. No bad frames pass through. Most enterprise switches use store-and-forward. Quality matters more than speed in most networks.
