An access port belongs to exactly one VLAN. When a frame arrives, the switch tags it internally with that VLAN's ID. Frames leaving an access port have their tags stripped. The connected device never sees VLAN tags. You assign access ports to end devices like workstations, printers, and servers. If you plug a laptop into an access port on VLAN , all its traffic belongs to VLAN .
