Every switch port starts in VLAN . Control traffic like CDP, VTP, and STP also uses VLAN by default. You cannot delete VLAN , but you can remove user traffic from it. You should move all user ports to other VLANs and leave VLAN for management or unused entirely. Leaving production traffic on VLAN is a security risk since attackers expect it. Changing this default is a simple step that improves your network's security posture.
