When sizing a concentrator, consider:
- Maximum concurrent sessions
- Throughput (encryption is CPU-intensive)
- Features needed (split tunneling, MFA integration)
Dedicated appliances use hardware accelerators for encryption. Software solutions run on virtual machines but consume more CPU.
