Hints aren't failures. They're redirects. Acknowledge and incorporate: "Ah, good point about consistency. So we'd want a quorum write..."
Don't ignore hints or argue against them. The interviewer knows where they want the conversation to go. Hints keep you on track and may prevent going down unproductive paths.
