When to Nest vs Chain

Choosing the right structure

You nest when conditions are independent tests at different levels. You chain when testing multiple values of the same thing. I'll show you: checking age ranges uses chaining because you test one variable against different thresholds.

Checking age AND membership uses nesting because they're separate questions. Nesting says "after this is true, ask another question." Chaining says "which of these options matches?" Pick the pattern that matches your decision structure.
