Circular Permutations

(Arranging in a circle)

What if you arrange items in a circle, not a line? Rotations that look the same are counted once.

Example: Seat 4 people around a circular table. If you rotate everyone one seat clockwise, it looks the same.

In a line, 4 people have 4! = 24 arrangements. In a circle, you divide by 4 rotations: 24/4 = 6.
