(Card draw probabilities)

Draw one card from a standard 52-card deck. Find P(heart or face card).

Let A = heart, B = face card (Jack, Queen, King).

P(A) = 13/52 (13 hearts). P(B) = 12/52 (4 suits × 3 faces). P(A ∩ B) = 3/52 (Jack, Queen, King of hearts).

P(A ∪ B) = 13/52 + 12/52 - 3/52 = 22/52 = 11/26.
