General Multiplication Rule

(Works for dependent events)

For any two events A and B:

P(A ∩ B) = P(A) × P(B | A)

This works whether events are independent or dependent. If independent, P(B | A) = P(B), so it reduces to P(A) × P(B).

Use this formula when events are dependent and you know the conditional probability.
