Probability Formula

(Favorable over total)

If all outcomes are equally likely, the probability of event A is:

P(A) = (number of favorable outcomes) / (total outcomes)

Rolling an even number on a die: 3 favorable outcomes {2, 4, 6}, 6 total. P(even) = 3/6 = 1/2.

This formula only works when outcomes are equally likely. If they are not, you need weighted probabilities.
