De Morgan's Laws

De Morgan's laws relate complements to union and intersection:

$1.$ $(A \cup B)^c = A^c \cap B^c$

$2.$ $(A \cap B)^c = A^c \cup B^c$

These laws let you rewrite expressions involving complements. For example, the complement of a union equals the intersection of complements.
