Ever wonder where your conversations go? Every conversation your agent has is stored as a JSONL file. Each line is a JSON object representing one message or event. The file is append-only, meaning nothing gets deleted or overwritten during a session.
The Gateway maintains a session index that maps session IDs to file paths. When an agent restarts, it reads the JSONL file from the beginning to rebuild context. Here's something to watch out for: old sessions accumulate over time. Without a cleanup policy, you'll eventually fill your disk with transcripts from months-old conversations. Set up cleanup early.
