Strong automation stories include:
- Before: Manual process, time spent, error rate
- Solution: What you built and why you chose that approach
- After: Time saved, errors eliminated, adoption by team
"How do you prioritize what to automate?"
Show strategic thinking:
- Frequency × time spent = toil cost
- Error-prone tasks are high priority
- Automation should pay back within reasonable time
- Sometimes documentation is better than automation
Interview tip: Quantify impact. "Saved hours per week" is better than "saved time."
