A "Strong Hire" behavioral answer has:
- Specific details (team size, timeline, metrics)
- Clear ownership ("I" not "we")
- Self-awareness (what you'd do differently)
- Growth demonstrated (you applied the lesson later)
A "Leaning No-Hire" answer has: vague stories, no metrics, finger-pointing at others, or answers that reveal you caused the problem you're claiming to have solved.
Your goal is to make the interviewer think: "I want this person on my team." Stories without metrics or self-awareness won't get you there.
