Factors and Multiples

(Two sides of divisibility)

If a divides b, then a is a factor of b. And b is a multiple of a. Same relationship, different names.

Example: The factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12. All these numbers divide 12 evenly. The multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, ... (3 times any integer).

Notice: every number has at least two factors (1 and itself). Most numbers have more.
